People: Appointments, Departures, Promotions

Cynthia (C.J.) Jordan has joined the UNF Library as Assistant University Librarian. She earned a M.S. in Information Studies from Florida State University and a B.A. in Communication Arts from the University of West Florida.

People: Awards, Degrees, Grants

Mary Davis, Bibliographic Instruction Coordinator, completed a professional development leave that took place from mid-March to mid-August of this year. Observation of library instruction activities in electronic classrooms in various colleges and universities offering library skills for academic credit was the major focus of her research.

People: Papers, Publications, and Presentations

Vicki Stanton helped present the Solinet Disaster Preparedness Seminar in March. The two day workshop included a hands-on Disaster Recovery Exercise.

Sarah Philips and Jim Alderman gave a presentation at the Florida Library Association's Annual Conference in Tampa, Florida, April 26, 2000. Their presentation, entitled "The Collection Vanishes, or What the Librarian Saw," provided a whimsical review of the impact technology has had on library collections and facilities.
