Awards and Activities
Sheila Hiss, Director of Library and Learning Resources, and the NFCC’s Marshall Hamilton Library staff have been awarded an Exemplary Practice Award by the Florida Association of Community Colleges Learning Resources Commission. The award, for the Library’s Starbooks Internet Café and Patio, was presented at the FACC Conference in Orlando November 20, 2008.
NFCC Library activities for the Spring, 2009 semester include experimenting with sending library overdue notices by email, sponsoring Guitar Hero and Wii Sports video gaming in the library, and initiating a Twilight Book Discussion Group. The library has also begun a Facebook presence. At the NFCC recruitment event Super Saturday on March 7, the library featured Dance Revolution.
