Christa Fowler Selected for Immersion '09
Christa Fowler, Reference Librarian at the Jane Bancroft Cook Library, will be participating in the Teacher Track of the Institute for Information Literacy Immersion ’09, July 26-31 in St. Petersburg.. The Teacher Track of Immersion “focuses on individual development for those who are interested in enhancing, refreshing, or extending their individual instruction skills.” For more information see the Immersion Web page.
African American Read-In
The Jane Bancroft Cook Library, a joint-use library of New College of Florida and the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, sponsored the African American Read-In for the fourth year in a row on Wednesday, February 18th from 11am – 1pm. This event was held in on the first floor of the Library where patrons could stop by and hear students, faculty and staff of both institutions reading from African American authors and poets. The reading continued non-stop for the two hour period. Library staff were delighted that we could once again sponsor this event.
