March is Women’s History Month and the AIU Library hosted two special events to recognize women in our community. On Wednesday, March 25 at 6:30 pm, Dr. Kathleen J. Waites, Professor of English and Gender Studies in the Department of Humanities at Nova Southeastern University, spoke on “Where Did the ‘Sister’ in Sisterhood Go? A comparison of the three waves of feminism". She also be signed her book, Particular Friendships: A Convent Memoir, based on her experiences as a young woman in a Roman Catholic convent, which earned her an invitation from the Broward County Library Foundation to be one of its 19 honored writers at the Literary Feast of 2007.

On Friday, March 27 at 10:00 am AIU was honored to have Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz speak at the University. “For over fifteen years, Debbie Wasserman- Schultz has dedicated her public life to working on behalf of the people of Southern Florida. On January 4, 2005, she was sworn in as a member of the United States House of Representatives to continue this fight as the Congresswoman from Florida's 20th Congressional District.” http://wassermanschultz.house.gov/bio.htm
