Continuing education and networking are important benefits as members of FACRL. Camila Alire, President of ACRL, 2005-2006, embraces this theme in her message to members. She writes that ACRL needs to be in the position "...to help you all grow, cope, and benefit as members." As president of the Florida Chapter of ACRL, on behalf of the Board of Directors, I am proud to share with you this year’s Fall Workshop, entitled "E-merging Technologies." I hope this workshop will allow you to grow, cope and benefit. This four part program aims to present you with several points of consideration in managing the library's main information access terminal, its website. The day begins first by focusing on web-usability studies by Sarah Hammill, Reference Librarian, Reader Services, and Inna Ilinskaya, Electronic Information Services Librarian, Florida International University. Following this presentation, managing electronic resources will be the next focus. This will be given by Valentina Mayz, Library Web Administrator, and Mair Bonnin, Reference/Web Librarian, Nova Southeastern University. After lunch, Donna Goda, Reference Librarian, University of Central Florida, will present a program on streaming video. Rounding out the day will be Suzi Holler, Technology Trainer, Central Florida Library Cooperative, who will present a program on blogging and podcasts. I hope that you will make plans to attend and I look forward to seeing you there!
