Florida Gulf Coast University hosted Information Strategies for the Next Century March 15-17. The conference was sponsored by the State University System Libraries of Florida. FGCU librarians contributed three presentations to the conference.

Anjana Bhatt, Assistant University Librarian, presented information in a session entitled Managing Library Services with the Web: Digital Possibilities in Interlibrary Loan, Circulation, and Collections. The presentation was based on a paper written by Pamela Sawallis, Associate University Librarian, and Georgia Allen, Coordinator of Library Computer Systems.

Kathleen Hoeth, Associate Dean for Library Services, presented a session entitled Teaching Information Literacy with the Web: The Search for the Skunk Ape.

Linda Marie Golian, Ed.D, University Librarian, presented a session entitled Utilizing Internet Resources in the New Millennium Classroom.

Pamela Sawallis, Associate University Librarian, presented a paper she wrote with Georgia Allen, Coordinator of Library Computer Systems, at the March 16, 2000 Computers in Libraries Conference in Washington, DC. The paper was titled Extending Access and Managing Metadata: Digital Possibilities on

Wendy Allex, Technical Services Team Leader, gave an overview of technical services including web sites, discussion lists, key resources, and career options at the February 2000 SWFLN (South West Florida Library Network) Paraprofessional Day Workshop. Her presentation was titled Introduction to Technical Services.

Linda Marie Golian, Ed.D, University Librarian, presented a training session titled How to Delegate for Greater Library Productivity at the February 2000 SWFLN (South West Florida Library Network) Paraprofessional Day Workshop.

Pamela Sawallis, Associate University Librarian, and Anjana Bhatt, Assistant University Librarian, attended the Special Libraries Association, Florida and Caribbean Chapter Annual Meeting in Tampa in February where they spoke about the Digital Possibilities in Access, Special Collections and Interlibrary Loan.
