People: Appointments, Departures, Promotions

Rachael Cathcart has held the position of OPS Reference Librarian since April, 2003. She received her MLIS from USF in December, 2002.

Linda Lesperance, Jitske Bergman, and Wanda Johnson were transferred from the fiscal supervision of Indian River Community College to Florida Atlantic University's Treasure Coast Campus Library. They join Hazel Taatjes and Head Librarian Carla Robinson as the FAU contingent in the joint-use facility.

Carla Robinson was promoted from Assistant University Librarian to Associate University Librarian.

FAU Libraries' Information Literacy and Instructional Services Department has hired Amanda J. Roberts as Instructional Librarian. Amanda earned her
M.L.I.S. from Louisiana State University and has a background in advertising, editing, and writing. She currently serves as Assistant Editor of Footnotes, the quarterly publication of the ALA New Members Round Table.

People: Papers, Publications, Presentations

Dr. William Miller, Director of Libraries, Florida Atlantic University and Rita M. Pellen, Associate Director, Florida Atlantic University Library, co-edited three special issues of the journal Resource Sharing & Information Networks, which have been co-published simultaneously as monographs entitled Joint-Use Libraries and Cooperative Efforts of Libraries, Parts I and II.

Gary Parsons continues to have letters to the editor published in American Libraries and reviews books for ARBA. Parsons attended the SEFLIN Academy's workshop, Copyright Law in the Digital Age, presented by nationally known speaker and copyright authority Laura Gasaway.

Roberto C. Ferrari, Head of Access Services/Arts & Humanities Librarian, published an article entitled, "The Unexplored Correspondence of Simeon Solomon," in The Journal of Pre-Raphaelite Studies v.13 (Spring 2003). The article reflects Roberto's ongoing research into the unpublished correspondence of Simeon Solomon (1840-1905), the gay Jewish Pre-Raphaelite artist.
