- 4. Treasury report – Discussed and approved
- a. Beginning balance – $ 6,400.27
- b. Expenses submitted for Fall program
- c. Elizabeth explains why there are two, $70 amounts
- d. Balance is $6842.27 as of 4/23/09
- 5. Fall Program (October 30, 2009 in Winter Park, FL at Rollins College)
- a. Only one program proposal at this time
- b. Extending deadline to July 15
- c. Email from Carol Ann on status of proposals by June 5
- d. Reviewed Registration form – added “job seeking” category for $30 fee
- e. Discussion of keynote speakers – Jonathan Miller to contact ACRL president
- f. Dawn volunteered to work on Student Scholarships
- g. FACRL Board meeting to be Oct 29 from 4-6 pm at Rollins. Reception and tours from 6-7:30 pm

- a. Nominating Committee
- i. Betsy Simpson, Sheri Brown, Nancy Cook on Nominating Committee
- ii. Dave Whisenaut is VP/President Elect
- iii. Linda Sobey is Treasurer
- b. Newsletter editor --Carol Ann will appoint a newsletter editor to replace Nancy Cook
- c. Open Board positions
- i. Four open positions to replace Sheri Brown, Nancy Cook, Mary Faulkner and Betsy Simpson.
- ii. 10 candidate vitas will be emailed to Board with vote via email to follow
- 7. Newsletter Editor’s Report
- a. September 1 is the next deadline
- b. Nancy Cook gave a description of what her editor job duties encompass
- 8. Legislative report - Jonathan Miller
- a. FLA and public library supporters throughout the state are
to be congratulated on saving state funding of public
libraries in this year's budget.
- b. National ACRL Legislative Agenda 2009, posted on the ACRL website in April, at
http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/acrl/issues/washingtonwatch/legagenda.cfm includes:

- c. March Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) Depository Library
Council Meeting in (DLC) in Tampa
- i. Library Directors of depository libraries were invited to attend to express
their concerns and ideas about the FDLP.
- ii. There were a lot of concerns about the inflexibility of the system from Regionals
made Selectives noted that Selective category Libraries are dropping their level
of collection or leaving the depository system.
- d. LSTA funding – librarians were urged to contact senators (via the ALA Washington office website
at http://capwiz.com/ala/home/).
- e. National Legislative Day is May 11 & 12. Virtual attendance available this year also
- f. National Legislative Advocate Program information is at
http://www.acrl.org/ala/mgrps/divs/acrl/issues/washingtonwatch/acrladvocates.cfm.
- g. NIH Public Access Policy has been made permanent. There are efforts underway to expand
this open access policy to other federal research funding agencies.

their hard work and participation; and thanks to new Past President
Elizabeth Killingsworth for her leadership as President.
